BECOME A CYS TEACHER
Yoga Teacher Training
Matthew and Holly have over 50 years combined experience as practitioners of the principles and techniques of the Yoga Tradition, as well as grappling with the texts attributed to Yoga. In addition, they have 36 years combined experience in developing teachers. For Matt and Holly, it is not a business, it is a lifestyle of health, wholeness and possible freedom from suffering into authentic relationship with reality.
As a result, they’ve evolved a program that is equaled by none: there is a difference between training someone to be a teacher, and training someone to be an instructor. We Train Whole Teachers.
Shala translates as school in sanskrit.
Circle Yoga Shala is a School for Yoga, Creative Movement, and Self-Inquiry in Arkansas’ Ozark Mountains. We are an internationally accredited Yoga Therapy School with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), one of 43 worldwide. A registered school with the National Yoga Alliance since 1999, we also offer 200RYT and 500RYT programs, as well as CEUs.
At the heart of all we do is contemplation, self-observation, and service.
Farm to Table
The relationship between our food, where it’s grown, and how it’s prepared is a key component of the Shala.
We use the highest quality of resources at all time and infuse them with our love and presence.
Ayurveda, the Science of Longevity serves as the guiding principle for all of our meal preparations.
We offer many opportunities to work on your own:
Yoga in Action, our quarterly publication produced by teachers and graduates of Circle Yoga Shala. Each issue of the publication selects a single topic to be covered from numerous yet integrated perspectives including philosophy, Ayurveda, bio-science, personal anecdotes, lifestyle topics and more.
"A phenomenal experience! This is an extremely unique learning environment packed full with up-to-date information presented in a simple to complex method. Be prepared to experience a full immersion into yoga." Shane L.
"I was a student at the month long residential 200HR teacher training in June 2015. It was an extremely valuable and fruitful way to spend my time and money. The Shala is such a healing space; Matt & Holly are stunningly wise and helpful. The things I learned at the Shala regularly enhance and simplify my life and work. I recommend getting involved with Matt & Holly's teachings in any way you can!" Hannah T.
In addition to our residential teacher training programs, we offer opportunities to immerse in practice and learning without commitment to a formal training.
Seva is a Sanskrit word translating as selfless service.
The goal of our Seva Program is to provide you an opportunity to immerse in learning, community, nature, and a holistic lifestyle for a nominal exchange.

What is difficult for most students of movement-based disciplines like Yoga, martial arts, and others to determine is this: When am I ready to begin advanced practice?
AMT is designed to offer the public a systematic sequence of development that aims to give serious students of movement-based disciplines a clear idea about when they are ready to get really serious about moving creatively and how to go about it.
We train Olympic and professional athletes from a variety of sports including beach volleyball, tennis, swimming, golf and bullfighting (American, not Spanish matador).
Matthew and Holly are official members of Team Slukova' and Hermannova', the Czech Republic's Olympic Women's Beach Volleyball Team.
